DE Track Sampler

UCR logo 200The Track Sampler Program is an introduction to Upper Canada Region’s Advanced Driver Education Program. Many members of UCR, either haven’t had the opportunity, time or desire to attend UCR’s most popular track program. Many would be interested in seeing the program at work without making a commitment to continuing. The Track Sampler program is designed with those people in mind.

A Track Sampler is an opportunity for those who are just curious, to attend the Saturday morning start up of our Advanced Driver Education Program as a guest / participant. No preparation is required as your car will not be used during the event. You just print, then sign up on the application found on the website (please print your email carefully). The application is emailed to the Track Chair at least a week before the event, who then sends you an email confirmation. You arrive at the Registration building at 7:30 am on the first day of the event (Saturday), pay a $20 fee (which covers your costs) and receive a schedule and information sheet. You will meet your lovely guide Rosemary Adam at Registration and she will escort you through our entire Driver Education Program .

Along with all the registered drivers you will be treated to Free Coffee and Donuts, given a tour of the Tech Line, where some of your questions will be answered. You’ll attend the Driver’s Safety Meeting with Rosemary where you will be taught the meaning of the flags and be privy to all of the latest safety instructions. A tour of the Tower, all the work stations and an explanation of their purpose will follow, as the track becomes active.

Later in the morning, once everyone has warmed up, you will be invited to the Green run group’s classroom session, where you will share in their enthusiasm. Once lunch time arrives you will be directed to the Staging area where our Chief Instructor will assign you a Nationally Certified Instructor, who will take you out in his or her car for a Touring Session on the main track. Feel free to ask questions and offer input as this is your opportunity to understand the finer points of our Driver Education Program.

Afterwards, join us for your complimentary Flagger’s Lunch at the Mosport Restaurant and spend as much time as you wish wandering the paddocks, talking to participants and watching the event unfold. We hope this window into the organization and safety of our Advanced Driver Education Program will have you wanting to join us. It’s all about the people.

2018 available dates are; Saturday May 5th, Saturday June 2nd, Saturday July 21st, Saturday August 18th, Saturday September 22nd and Saturday October 13th.
