996 Roof Bracket
Posted Sunday, 15 March 2009 By Paul Magrath
Anyone ever drop the headliner and have a roof bracket fixed?
- How big a job is it?
- Can this be done without special tools etc?
- Should this only be attempted by professionals?
- Any idea of cost?

I have a 2003 996 C4S - sunroof coupe which I purchased in the US last October. About a month after getting it home, registered, certified etc....I started to notice a rattle in the roof. It does not seem to hinder the operation of the sunroof however it drives me completely bonkers as I drive on our wonderful Canadian road dodging the bigger potholes.
When I occasionally hit a bigger one or go over train tracks ...it sounds like the sky is falling.
I know if I hold my hand on the headliner at that point I can eliminate the noise entirely but, my arm gets a bit tired.

I have scoured the internet and my 996 The Essential Companion by Adrian Streather ...but so far no luck!!

Any assistance is appreciated.
