In a prelude to its official opening scheduled for September 2013, Porsche Centre Oakville and the Policaro Automotive Family hosted 911 50, a special 50th anniversary celebration of the automaker’s most enduring model, the 911. The display, located at Towne Square in downtown Oakville, Ontario, featured a classic, original 1965 Porsche 911 on display alongside the new 50th Anniversary Edition. Only 1,963 examples of the 50th Anniversary car will be built, with the Canadian allocation limited to 50 units. Porsche Centre Oakville is current taking orders for them.
The event brought together passionate Porsche owners, club members, and the public to meet dealership staff and representatives from Porsche Cars Canada to learn more of the highly anticipated opening of Porsche Centre Oakville. Francesco Policaro, General Manager for the new dealership, conveyed that “with more than 5,000 square meters in size, we will be proud to welcome guests to the largest Porsche dealership in North America when it opens”.
Policaro also added the special touches that Porsche enthusiasts can expect. “It will feature a cafe and lounge, where guests can enjoy catered food, including breakfast, lunch, and light snacks in the evening; and, plans are in place to have a plug-in charging facility located in the showroom which will showcase the upcoming Panamera S E-Hybrid plug-in sedan”. And, exclusive to Canada, it will have a Classic division with a full restoration centre headed by veteran Porsche restoration expert Jay Lloyds, to provide specialized service to Classic Porsche vehicles for enthusiasts to have their vintage cars returned to like new condition right at Porsche Centre Oakville.
