2019 Concours

Presenting Our Annual Concours and Show & Shine Event!

THE UCR Concours d’Elegance and Show & Shine event is a GO with a return to the beautiful grounds of WUNDEBA on Guelph Line in Burlington, on Sunday, September 1st, from 9 until 2.

This is a gorgeous property, where we last held a very fun and popular event three years ago, featuring slight changes in elevation and a mature landscape, complete with a pond and beautiful large trees. Along with the vistas of the nearby Niagara Escarpment, this scenic backdrop is the perfect setting to show off our beautiful cars.

GORGEOUS CARS, BEAUTIFUL GROUNDS, GREAT FOOD AND DRINK

Spectators are welcome free of charge to take in the UCR Concours, but we urge you to enter your Porsche for a very low registration fee of only twenty dollars and take part in the fun! ALL participants will leave the event as winners, with a beautiful memento and goodie bag to take home.

Wundeba Restaurant, Café & Patio is a fantastic venue, promising us some great culinary delights, while we meet and greet with old and new friends and admire the cars on hand. Everyone loved this place, the food, and the friendly staff when we were here last.

DON’T BE SHY – THIS IS NOT JUST FOR GARAGE QUEENS

All Porsche cars are welcome, from 356 to Macan, and will be divided into 21 separate classes for the Peer Judging category. Also welcome are Special Interest and Competition Porsche Cars. Non-PCA members are welcome to enter their cars in the event as well! However, we will not accept replica cars or other makes into the Concours display.

There will be one difference this year to allow for a much smoother start to the event: we will offer pre-registration and the event will be limited to 120 entries. Please see the sidebar for details and enter the event as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

PEER-JUDGING SHOW & SHINE OR FULL CONCOURS JUDGING – WHAT’S YOUR THING?

On the day, simply arrive before 9:00 am, stop at registration to pick up your entry package (or pay the registration fee if you’ve taken your chances and have not pre-registered and there is still space) and park your car in the allocated area for your Porsche model and year, as directed by our volunteers. As usual, there will be Peer-Judging with “Winners” and “Runners-up” in each of the 21 classes, with trophies awarded, plus we will have a People’s Choice Award Trophy as selected by all participants and spectators.

Additionally, as it was so well received in past years, the special but optional “Full-Concours” Judged Category will be offered again this year as well, at an additional $20.00 charge. In order to allow the judges sufficient time to do a thorough Concours level inspection on each vehicle, your car must be ready by 9:00 am when the judging will begin, so please arrive no later than 8:30. Full Concours will be divided into seven classes, with winner and runner up receiving a trophy in each class. The Full Concours Category will be limited to a total of 75 cars and judging will end at noon. Full Concours cars will be parked in their respective groups in the field along with the Peer-Judged cars and identified with a special windshield medallion; they will also be part of the Peer-Judging. You may come away with two trophies and a certificate, a goodie bag and a special memento, all for forty dollars!

This is a fun family event in a very relaxed setting, and a time to catch up with old and new Porsche friends and speak our common language: Porsche. An extremely nice variety of food to suit every taste and orientation will be available from our host, WUNDEBA – from breakfast to lunch – and promises to be a delight in itself.

So, get ready to shine up your baby for September 1st and follow the updates on the UCR website for additional details as they unfold: www.pcaucr.org/concours.

We’ll see you at THE Porsche Gathering of the Season!
