Protecting Your Porsche

C17 MEDIA, as a proud printer of the Provinz magazine for the last three years, was ecstatic when PCA UCR Past-President Mike Bryan reached out to us to protect his newly acquired 718 Spyder.

Under our automotive division, Racing Optics, we offer a suite of vehicle appearance services including paint protection film (PPF), colour-change wrap films, ceramic paint coatings and windshield-protection tear-offs. As such, we were well equipped to handle Mike Bryan’s requests for paint protection film and black accenting stripes.

Whether he has planned weekend jaunts down winding back roads, monthly trips to the nearest track, or simply short commutes for groceries, opting to protect his Spyder with paint protection film maintains peace of mind and ensures the car looks brand-new years down the road.

For those who may be less familiar with paint protection film, here’s some insight into what it is, how it works, and the extent of protection available.

WHAT IS PPF?

Imagine having an extra layer of virtually invisible skin that could be applied to high-contact areas on your body to protect you from scrapes, scratches, UV rays and blemishes. Paint protection film essentially offers this protection for your vehicle. Using an ultra-clear, ultra-durable, wrap-like film that is applied on your Porsche’s body work by a team of certified installers, your vehicle’s paintwork stays pristine for years to come. You’ll also never have to worry about defects as most film manufacturers offer a 10-year warranty against yellowing, staining, delaminating, cracking, peeling, bubbling, and more!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Seamless fit and finish — whether your Porsche is just relishing its first few miles on the road like Mike Bryan’s 718 Spyder, or has seen hundreds, if not, thousands of miles, it’s important to note that paint protection film is not exclusively for new cars. When your Porsche first arrives at our certified install facility, the paint is thoroughly prepped to ensure a crystal-clear finish. Typically, prepping the paint can be as simple as a full-decontamination wash, or as complex as a surface refinishing with a repaint. Of course, when you bring your vehicle to us, we assess the condition of the paint prior to installation. Once your body work is prepped, the paint protection film is custom cut to ensure full coverage and seamless fit on your Porsche. The final stage in protecting your Porsche is installation and curing. Our team of industry-certified professionals carefully apply pre-cut film pieces to each panel by hand. Once applied, the film is left to cure for 24 to 48 hours after installation, guaranteeing a perfect installation. Standing behind our craftsmanship, we offer a one-year installation warranty for added peace of mind!

Choosing your protection — the flexibility of paint protection film allows you to choose the extent of protection based on your budget. For total protection, all painted surfaces of your Porsche can be protected. If you are looking for a less-comprehensive solution that still protects high-contact areas, owners can opt for protection on the front bumper, headlights, hood, mirrors and rear fender arches. Of course, there is even the option for bespoke additions which can include trunk and door sills, A-pillars, and even spoilers. The possibilities are endless!

Thank you for trusting us to protect your lovely Spyder, Mike Bryan! You can now enjoy the road ahead with complete confidence. </>
