Mantis Tech Session

Mantis Autosport provided a 2nd Zoom UCR Tech Session of 2021 on Thursday April 8 at 7pm for PCA members, providing updates on their road and track projects, and DIY project opportunities for owners and Mantis to work together to reduce cost and achieve the result.

Mantis sells parts and can provide guidance for an owner project, and can to do specific work when needed, for instance engine/transmission rebuilds, suspension alignment and setup and suchlike.

  • General Track Health Check – Keeping a log or receipt book – brakes, fluids, tires, wheel play, turbo specific items,
  • Track Improvements – do it yourself or paid to a shop – 944/968 – control arms, baffles, weight reduction, MCS coilovers, Cayman/911/Boxster – GT3 control arms, alignment shims, Soul exhaust,
  • Safety Gear – roll bars, purpose track car vs. combo,
  • Club Racing – Letter class, platforms etc.   Also encouraging racing/club racing: DIY  SP1 kit where Mantis does cages and engines and the owner does the rest of the work.    Race opportunities would be PCA club race, and potentially CASC and VARAC events.
