I bought this 1997 fully optioned Boxster in ‘99. Since the intro from the concept, I wanted one. Of course, the 2.5 was okay but I wanted more. I had a 3.4 in it back in 2004. Now it has a fresh 3.8 built from a 3.4.
Some subtle mods include: anniversary 550 taillights, 996 front bumper and centre radiator, 996 front brakes, 996 Litronics, 19-inch Fuchs replicas, custom exhaust and headers, light-weight flywheel with a limited slip, black plastic interior bits done in carbon fibre. It has stainless braided brake lines, red seat belts, Mantis racing under-drive pulleys, silver gauge bezels, newer audio, silver console, red Sparco steering wheel, silver rollbar, Ruf ECU, sport springs and sway bars.
I have driven it to and tracked at Watkins Glen, CTMP, Mont-Tremblant, Shannonville, Calabogie and TMP. It’s more fun to drive than the first time and gets better with age! — Robert Magro
