Best Of Wine Country Driving Tour (West Edition: Niagara)

Enjoy a fun day touring Vineland and Niagara-On-The-Lake in your Porsche with fellow club members —  starting with Southbrook Vineyards, we visit their thoughtfully designed and LEED-certified hospitality pavilion. Through the guided wine tasting, we learn about Southbrook’s award-winning, sustainable and biodynamic viticulture practices. A picnic lunch and wine pairings are served. After lunch, stretch your legs as we take the scenic route to Vineland. Next stop is 13th Street Winery where we sample a couple of Ontario’s quintessential varietals, tour the estate, and don’t forget to treat yourself to butter tarts and other goodies from the famous 13th Bakery! For the art lovers, the gallery at 13th showcases original works by Canadian artists. Last but not the least, a pit stop at Cherry Lane for snacks and juices, before we head back home.

  • Hosted by Eric Wang [email protected]
  • 20 Porsches, cost $48 (includes wine tasting and gourmet picnic lunch)
  • Registration via ClubReg opens Sunday, July 1, 2018 at 9 p.m.

Fall Rally @ Pfaff Motors
Sep 15 @ 8:30 am – 11:30 am

A Rally is a technical driving event. Multiple checkpoints time the cars and penalize early or late arrivals at checkpoints. Trip odometers are set to zero at the calibration point after a short drive from the starting point to get drivers and navigators accustomed to the written instructions of the route. From the calibration point forward, there will be no information about road names. Navigators must pay careful attention to the way points, landmarks and constantly check with drivers for odometer readings. Driving directions forward of the calibration point are provided in Kilometres and Miles, such as “Drive 3km (1.86 Miles) and turn right” followed by step-by-step distance to each way point for navigation of the entire rally. The route instruction sheet will also have questions about significant landmarks to score points for observation, so familiarize yourself with the questions before you drive off and keep eyes open to recognize and record the landmarks.
DATE:  September 15th, 2018
START Point: PFAFF Motors 105 Four Valley Dr. Concord Ontario.
TIME: Registration and the drivers briefing will begin at 8:30 am.
END point: Bakhtar Kabab 5925 Tomken Rd. Unit 1 Mississauga.
FEE: The entrance fee is 45$ per car.

Nickelball Driving Tour

Nickelball Bay to Shining Bay Pre-Thanksgiving Weekend Tour

On Saturday morning at 9:00 AM, our Nickelball Tour takes the group North from Parry Sound across the newest and smoothest section of Highway 400, with its playful exits and on-ramps, past the historic canoe route to the west, then through the Canadian Shield for lunch in Sudbury overlooking one of the city’s 330 lakes.  After lunch, our route heads to the famous Big Nickel and then further North past the picturesque A.Y. Jackson Lookout returning for our dinner and overnight stay.   Sunday brings breakfast and takes us West across the Trans-Canada Highway to the curves and white quartzite mountains of our approach to Manitoulin Island. We’ll grab lunch and touring the largest freshwater island in the world along open and clear roads, with a stop or two along the way to shop local stores and galleries. Running back and forth on the island roads, we’ll arrive at South Baymouth where some of us will catch the return ferry while others may take the North route back through Little Current on the mainland route. All told, this event presents the most diverse, varied and unexpected landscapes in the province.

Autumn Colours Niagara Driving Tour

Enjoy the vibrant splendor of autumn in Niagara, at its very peak at this time in October, as we pilot our Porsches along the top of the escarpment, beginning just outside Hamilton and wrapping up in Queenston Heights and Old Town Niagara-On-The-Lake on the Niagara River.

Introduce your Porsche to some of the great driving roads in Niagara’s breathtaking back yard! This run features some impressive twists and turns, ups and downs, traversing the mighty Niagara escarpment as well as the surrounding area, dotted by beautiful conservation areas, snaking rivers, quaint villages and fine wineries.

Several opportunities exist to stop, chat, snap some photos and enjoy the best of Porsche and Niagara — including a relaxing stop into the Wine Lodge at Fielding Estate Winery for a sample or two, with its expansive balcony overlooking an incredible valley of vineyards.

Your eyes will delight in not only Niagara’s colourful leaves cranked up to their highest volume, but also the spectacular panoramic views of Lake Ontario and the various towns and villages tucked among the escarpment.

This driving tour wraps in style — back by popular demand from May’s Spring Awakening run — as we pull onto the south lawn of Peller Estates winery for a mini car show and gourmet reception of fine wine and scrumptious canapés created by Executive Chef and Cityline personality Jason Parsons, inspired by local Niagara farms and growers. If desired, extend the enjoyment with fellow Porschephiles on the patio of Peller’s Barrel House Grill as the sun sets over the vineyards — and our beautiful cars.

Daylight fades with each passing day, hibernation for many Porsches is just around the bend, so don’t miss this opportunity for one of 2018’s final great drives!

  • Hosted by PCA UCR Driving Tours [email protected],
  • 25 Porsches, 200 kilometres
  • Cost $55.55 per person (includes wine tasting at Fielding Estate Winery, and mini car show with wine and canapé reception at Peller Estates winery)
  • Registration via ClubReg opens Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018 at 9 p.m.

Kawartha Lakes Autumn Blaze Driving Tour
Oct 13 all-day

Fire up your Porsche for one of 2018’s final — and best — driving tours as we carve our way through Kawartha Lakes’ rolling hills, rugged rock and flat plains, set ablaze in all their autumn glory, via some of the smoothest and curviest highways, with a relaxing gourmet lunch stop at Stone 21 restaurant at the fabulous Pinestone Resort in Haliburton.

This extraordinary drive begins at 10 a.m. just north of Toronto, in Uxbridge, warming up with some sweeping curves and straight blasts as we head into rural lake country. We snag a quick pit stop in Bobcaygeon and then tackle some seriously fantastic highways on our way to Haliburton and a delicious lunch at Stone 21 restaurant, relaxing among Kawartha Lakes’ tremendous natural beauty, amped up by fall’s foliage and crisp clear air.

After lunch, we snake our way back towards civilization through the heart of the Kawarthas, again on some of the area’s best roads, nestled among various waterways and marshlands, scattered farms, mature woods and sprawling countryside.

To wrap up, we pop into a diner for a refreshing beverage, possibly a snack, to share some stories of the day’s great adventure before dispersing and setting off for our respective homes.

This event is an encore presentation of the summer’s popular Land Between Driving Tour, carefully designed by host James Biggar to meet the needs of Porsche enthusiasts and their high-performance cars — minimal traffic and great pavement! It has been slightly tweaked for additional fun.

It won’t be long before many Porsches are tucked away into hibernation for the cold winter, so don’t miss one of 2018’s final exciting driving tours! Limited spots. Sign up now to avoid disappointment.
