At the Track

On the day of the Drivers-Ed event, plan to arrive at the Track at about 7am. This will give you time to get through the Check-in and Tech-Line and familiarize yourself with our schedule. In general, the following are the procedures you will encounter:

Registration Check-inShow your drivers license, sign the waiver and attach your Security Wristband to your left wrist. This wrist band is your access for the remainder of the weekend. Any Give-a-ways are distributed here.
At the gateShow your wrist band to the guard and proceed to the paddock area.
In the paddockFind a suitable parking spot and remove all loose items from the car, including floor mats, garage door openers, DVDs, contents of door bins, glovebox, trunk, etc. It is useful to have a tarp or protective cover in case of rain. Attach your car numbers and ensure you have both helmet and signed Tech Form. Proceed to the Tech Line in the lower paddock.
At Tech LineWait in your car. Be prepared to demonstrate brake lights. Hold car on brakes while wheel nuts are torque checked. Be ready to show your helmet and present your signed tech form to the Tech Chief. He will apply your Inspection Sticker. Return to your parking space. Review the schedule. Check vehicle fluid levels (coolant, oil, brake fluid, p/s fluid) and tire pressures. Ask our tire sponsor for advice if unsure. Relax and listen for announcement of the mandatory Drivers Safety Meeting at 8:25.
At Drivers Safety MeetingListen Up! This information is important for your safety and your enjoyment of the event. Don’t be afraid to ask questions.
After Drivers MeetingMake sure you know when your run group is scheduled. Listen for call to Staging where you will meet your Instructor. HAVE FUN !
Between RunsHydrate yourself with water or juice even if weather is cool. Check tire pressures to see if they need adjusting. Ask tire sponsor for advice if unsure. Let car cool down and then check fluid levels again. Relax and review run session.

Note: If you have an Instructor assigned to you (name will be in your Registration email) we recommend that you try to make contact with them at or before the Drivers Safety Meeting.
