    Boxster-Only Muskoka

The first Boxster-only Muskoka driving tour — be it the first 986 or current 718 and all other models in between, UCR brings you the first Boxster-only driving tour in Muskoka. Originally to be for the Boxster SIG (Special Interest Group), we wanted to open it up to all club Boxster owners. So get ready for a Boxster-only drive around the beautiful Muskoka countryside, hosted by Walter Murray, past president, and his wife Sheila Harwood, who are long-time residents of Muskoka.

Walter recently acquired a new 2022 718 GTS 4.0 and has organized many driving tours in the area. The start location is the Bracebridge McDonald’s at 105 Muskoka District Road 118 where you can have a comfort stop and refill the coffee mug. Go to the back area and park. Meet-up is at 10 a.m.

Take Highway 118 exit of Highway 11 just past the Muskoka airport. Turn left and stay on this road until you get to the lights in town at Tim Hortons. Turn left and McDonald’s is just down on the right.

Depending on demand, there will be one or two groups, limited to 15 or less.

After a beautiful morning drive around Muskoka we arrive back in Bracebridge at the picturesque South Muskoka Curling & Golf Club. A sumptuous lunch of baked salmon filet, prime rib, herb-roasted mini potatoes, seasonal vegetables, selection of fresh salads, assorted finger desserts, and coffee and tea, will follow. All-in fixed price per person of $56.

Following lunch we get back on the road to experience more of Muskoka’s finest highways and byways. We finish at a Muskoka brewery outside Bracebridge. From there it is a short hop back to Highway 11. Or stay in Muskoka for a few days and take advantage of the Ontario vacation grant program.

This driving tour is also a great opportunity to join the Boxster SIG (Special Interest Group). It’s free and currently is approximately 50 like-minded Boxster owners. Dan Proudfoot quarterbacks the membership and you can get him at sigboxster@pcaucr.org. The SIG group looks to organize Boxster activities of all sorts and was the genesis for this tour. If you have any questions or comments, let Walter know at 705-394-8746.
