Gran Turismo Fun Run
Taking inspiration from road races such as the historic Mille Miglia, The Targa Florio and La Carrera Panamericana, this tour was created to reflect the spirit of those races and the essence of GT driving. This GT tour has a combination of challenging roads, some with elevation changes of up to 2175 feet and marvelous scenery.
Welcome to the Gran Turismo 1000.
Giorno Uno (Day one):
The GT 1000 departs from Niagara Falls, Ontario, at 5:30 a.m. Our first stop will be for breakfast in scenic Ellicottville, the primary tourist destination of Cattaraugus County, New York; known for outdoor recreation and numerous festivals, including taste of Ellicottville – a sampling of the village’s finest restaurants.
From Ellicottville, we drive into the “Wilds of Pennsylvania”. Drivers, Day 1 will provide the most challenging and intense driving, touring the Longhouse Scenic Byway and along other roads that will have your right hand and left foot dancing (…or your fingers for those with PDK).
We’ll make another stop for lunch before arriving at our final destination at Williamsport, PA., where we check in at the Hampton Inn & Suites. Upon our arrival participants will be at their leisure before we rejoin for dinner at The Peter Herdic House, an elegant restaurant specializing in serving sustainable, locally sourced ingredients housed in two restored Victorian mansions on historic Williamsport’s Millionaire’s Row. After dinner (and for those inclined) we will adjourn to the Bull Frog Brewery a local hotspot for live music and, of course, varieties of beer. The Peter Herdic House and The Bull Frog Brewery area is a five minute walk from our hotel. So once we arrive in town we can let the cars rest for the night.
Giorno Due (Day two):
Today we head back to New York State. Breakfast will be at the hotel and today’s departure time is at 8:00 a.m. We head north east to drive twisty roads through World’s End State Park en route to the town of Watkins Glen. Our lunch location will be at the Blue Pointe Grill located within the Four Diamond Watkins Glen Harbour Hotel. Back behind the windshield we’re off to Letchworth State Park for a rest stop at The Glenn Iris Inn, located within Letchworth State Park. There is a beautiful waterfall across from the Inn and we’ll take some time to enjoy the surroundings. Departing The Glen Iris Inn, we take the scenic drive through the park heading back to Canada where we’ll end the tour with a celebratory dinner at the Watermark Restaurant on the 33rd floor of the Hilton Hotel in Niagara Falls.
