Greetings fellow PCA UCR members.
I would like to know where I could locate a set of 2000 Boxster headlight assemblies either new (at a reasonable price of course!) or used but in good condition. I am also looking for a set of coloured center caps for both my 2000 Boxster and my 1986 944. I’ve done some research online and I see there are two types of caps…one made of plastic and the other in metal. I’d appreciate any member’s comments on how good a quality the plastic ones are ( a huge difference in price of course…just wondering if it’s worth it).
Thank you very much in advance.
Happy and safe motoring!

I bought a set of metal (silver with colour logo) ones a few years ago for a 993. They were nice. This year I bought a set of plastic (Black, concave). They look real nice and the colour logo is much bigger. I bought them on Ebay from a seller in North Toronto. I really like them with the black wheels and they got delivered on about 3 days!

Thanks so much for your post. I was wondering if the plastic centre caps would be equally as good (durability wise) as the metal caps considering the huge price difference between the plastic and the metal ones. I’ve seen really nice plastic sets under $50 on ebay and a metal set being sold on kijiji for almost $300! Would you know the name of the company that sells the caps you purchased? I’ve also found a german parts company in Toronto that sells the Hella Boxster headlight assemblies for $560 each (+ tax). I’m wondering if that’s a fair price. Thanks again for your help.

I bought my plastic black concave center caps ($36.99) from E bay seller, Gemini-100. The factory originals are the most durable, the ones with the two little holes for pulling them off. The color emblem set I bought to replaced the factory silver with black logo, did have a small issue. The inside metal cup that connects to the cap was a bit loose on some of the caps. I secured them with some epoxy before I snapped them in, and they worked fine for years. My latest 993 had the same aftermarket caps ( black with a silver / black crest) but they have no looseness issue at all. I still have this set. I replaced then with the black concave, larger color crest ones. they look so good with the black turbo twist wheels. The 3D color crest is thin metal with a very sticky adhesive on the back similar to the engraving metal plates that are stuck onto many trophies. If you do buy these you should check to see that the adhesive is firmly pressed down. one of mine was not pressed tight. I will check them again before I start to drive this spring. I imagine that the warm weather will dry out the adhesive when the sun hits it. I would be careful then cleaning the wheels center caps and no power washers on them. I have a 993 so I can’t help you with the lights.
Best of Luck Bert
