Thank you for organizing this event this morning.. You can not imagine how much knowledge you can gain by talking to other Porsche owners. Coffee was great.
Thanks David – that was awesome! Hope to see you in October, 4th Sunday in the month!! Wil should be posting a few pics soon.
Thanks James for organizing this group. Great location, secure parking. Shoppers were stopping with kids jumping out of their vehicles to snap a few pic of the cars. I think this group will grow. Nice meeting you, David.
See you next time
Next meeting is NOVEMBER 25th. Hope to see everyone there!!
A recent pic from the group!
Is there a meeting this Sunday the 23rd? Or will it keep until January 27th?
Next month, so January 27th we will meet up again. Hope to see you there!
Is this a Mississauga meeting (905?). I’m out that way.
Hey there Allan,
We are getting together in Aurora. From Mississauga, that’s not bad, come and join us!
The Porsche Group 905
About 6 months ago at a Tuesday UCR social in Aurora a couple of us, James King, his son, Zachary, Will Chiu and I enjoyed a nice dinner at the Market Bistro with about 40 UCR members and tossed around the idea of a group gathering monthly, north of the City. James followed through with his typical enthusiasm and within a week, the 905 Group was born, and continues to meet the fourth Sunday each month.
Sadly, some of us have just learned of James’ passing in April.
James felt it was worth taking the time to do the things you enjoy, and spend quality time with the friends you choose. He would want us to continue in the spirit that “it’s not the cars, but the people you meet”, and we’ll do that. Tomorrow’s gathering in Aurora(directions in post above) at 10 AM, weather expected to be great.
Sunday, May 26, 2013 – braved the cool winds and bright sunshine to attend Second Cup in Aurora (my first time attending). Sadly, I never had the privilege of meeting James. Enjoyed good coffee and Porsche fellowship. C’mon out next month!
It is so sad to hear the passing of James. The last time I saw him was in the January coffee meeting. He was really a Porsche enthusiast. He never missed any monthly coffee meeting since we started until February. Actually in some months last year we were the only ones who showed up inspite of the cold weather. We talked about cars, family and our dogs. I even convinced him to put winter tires in his Turbo so he could enjoy it in the winter. We were planning to go for more Fun Runs this summer and join a group outside the club to go for more drives. I agree with Barry that James would want us to continue the spirit that “it is not the cars but the people you meet|”. See you all in the gathering next month.
