I read with great interest about the return of the 944 Cup Series to the PCA Club Racing fold. One of the problems associated with success is that it can be profitable for others to poach from PCA’s Club Race fields. That takes members away from, what was single marque Club Racing, to run a “pro” series for money in the form of sponsorship. In the long run that hurts the Club and the membership, as Club Racing with smaller fields has a negative effect on the Region’s races.
Now if Porsche Cars Canada would do the same and return the GT3 series to it’s Club Racing roots, perhaps we could have Club Races with full fields again. This is just my opinion as a member at large, since I’ve witnessed the effects that these series have on Club Racing and the Region’s ability to host them.
