From what I can tell the local PCA does not go to Calabogie either (maybe just not anymore?). From information I have it is as expensive as Mosport to rent so you would have to have a full house to justify the cost. And convincing all the volunteers to go that far might be an issue as well. It is not quite as far for me as I am already east of Toronto but for others it might be many hours drive. And with no camping facilities it is a problem
There are other options as well from what I can tell — evening track days and full track days.
Maybe I will have to wait ’til I get out of the instructor required run groups to get there.
I wonder of some sort of joint UCR/Rennsport event has been considered?
I am guessing you are in a group that requires an instructor? I am sure this is driven by instructor availability.
I am guessing that some people drop out and/or instructors get added late so a last minute move (i.e just before two weeks or so) is possible depending on where you are placed on the wait list. I am guessing the likelihood of getting off the wait list is based on where you sit on the list.
I am sure the registrar knows — it would also be useful for participants to know so they can have some idea of the odds of going and can arrange their schedule accordingly. I don’t know if it is possible to keep that sort of information up to date or not (online tracking would be best but it may not be easily accomplished).
I updated my 2006 Boxster to a double din Jensen unit. I am not a automotive whiz by any means. If you want to do it yourself I can probably dig up a link the Facebook post where I outlined what I bought and provided links I used to do it.
So I bought the Mantis Racing one — just installed yesterday. It is rather crudely manufactured but seems to do the job and was relatively easy to install (provided you have the odd ball socket that fits the seat bolts — Torx E12 btw)
I got two confirmation emails — a few weeks apart for the event in May that I attended. Both indicated my run group as “Green” – the first had no number indicated, the second assigned me a number. I had numbers done in magnetic material for the doors of the car (I managed to lose one of the numbers during running the second day).
I hope to attend a later event this year so I have sourced a magnetic sheet to make a new number. Staples has printable magnetic sheets that can be used to make numbers. I saw others with just taped numbers so you should be able to do it the last minute.
