PCA UCR Sim Racing

Paul Neto, UCR DE Instructor and UCR Sims Racing Administrator, has set up a PCA UCR specific sim racing league in iRacing.

Each race includes a 20-minute practice session, 10-minute qualifier, and 30-minute race, all starting at 7pm each Sunday evening.

  3. Feb 7th, Road Atlanta Highlights from Race 3 Road Atlanta
  4. Feb 14th, Daytona Highlights from Race 4 Daytona
  5. Feb 21st, Summit Point Highlights from Race 5 Summit Point
  6. Feb 28th, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (aka Mosport)

To help keep it fun and friendly for the first season, the car of choice was the Porsche 991 RSR with a baseline setup.

If you haven’t already ventured into sim racing, all you need is a basic gaming computer (most within the past two years should be sufficient), a steering wheel/pedal set (starting at about $250), and a subscription to a simulator. Most of these can also be picked up used for a fraction of the price as well. You can check whether your computer meets iRacing requirements

To join PCA sim racing, you have to purchase an iRacing subscription, cars and tracks at iRacing Membership iRacing costs about $100/year plus any extra cars or tracks ($12-$15 each).
