Welcome to the new design of PCA UCR. It's still in progress so please be patient with any errors and omissions!

Porsche 996 – First of the Water-Cooled 911s

As PCA UCR’s lead advocate for the 996 Special Interest Group, there are a few things I need to say up front about the 996 platform of the legendary 911:

1. The IMS issue affected only five to eight percent of the total cars. And if you’re still nervous, a full solution can be installed so you never have to worry about it again.

2. The headlights are ovals, just like every other 911. They just happen to have a few more functions added into the enclosure.

3. Water-cooling was a necessary update. It opened up a whole new world of better performance and that has been adopted by every 911 generation since.

With these points made, the following profiles share the experiences of our club members’ love for their 996s…
