Truly Worthy

I PURCHASED OUR 2009 CAYENNE just before Christmas in 2020. I was lucky to find a well-kept base model almost on my doorstep from a private owner in St. Catharines. The condition inside and out and the fact that everything seemed to work properly, allayed my concern over the 255,000 kilometres on its odometer. It came with a complete service history dating back to 2012 when the seller bought it as a certified pre-owned example from a Porsche dealer in Cleveland.

Despite its “base” specification, it has pretty much everything I need in a daily driver, and the performance of the 3.6-litre V6 is more than adequate for my needs. It is comfortable to drive and more than lives up to its SUV moniker, with “sporty” performance and handling, and great “utility,” able to carry bulky loads in its cavernous cargo area once the rear seats are folded flat.

There have been a few minor electrical issues, mostly related to the rear hatch release, but easily fixed with help from the Rennlist community. The Cayenne came with winter tires on its OEM rims, so I invested in a set of Cayenne Turbo 18-inch rims and Pirelli all-season tires for summer use. I am delighted with our Cayenne and now believe — I didn’t always — that it is truly worthy of the Porsche crest on the hood. </>
