The Kitchener-Waterloo Grand River Driving Tour (Butter Tarts, Bridges and Barbecue) returns Oct. 1 with an extended route, a new pit stop and a new sponsor — Policaro Group, owner of the soon-to-be opening Porsche Centre Kitchener-Waterloo. Join fellow enthusiasts for an inspiring fall drive as we depart from what will be the new dealership location in Kitchener, to explore some of the twists and turns west, north and east of Waterloo, culminating in a delicious meal at the German-inspired barbecue restaurant Crowsfoot Smokehaus in Conestogo. The route expands on last year’s with even more amazing country views, corners, sweeping turns, dips and straights. One of the highlights from last year’s drive will return, the historic West Montrose Covered Bridge. Built in 1881, it is listed on the Canadian Register of Historic Places and serves as an opportunity to drive over a unique piece of the region’s history.
