Driving Tour: Gourmet Niagara

July 8

Join PCA/UCR members on WEDNESDAY July 8 for the Fifth Annual Gourmet Niagara Driving Tour. Having a mid-week event reduces the traffic and gives us more dining options.

After gathering for registration at the Niagara Gateway Information Centre adjacent to the QEW, our first stop will be one of the best-kept secrets in the Niagara area, the Painted Ladies of Grimsby Beach, a unique historic landmark. Then we will wind our way around the escarpment and through the scenic Ball’s Falls Conservation Area, to our lunch stop at a Niagara Region destination, The Watering Can. Here you will enjoy a light meal with several menu options in a tropical garden environment.

Lunch Menu Options, Please select one.

• Strawberry Rhubarb Salad: Feta, toasted almonds, strawberry vinaigrette (Vegetarian)
• Meat Ball Hoagie: Peppers and caramelized onion, provolone cheese, arugula and pesto
• B.L.T. Bagel: Everything bagel, tomato, crispy porchetta, Boston leaf, lemon garlic cream cheese
• Vegan Option: Roasted Vegetable Sandwich Roasted peppers, zucchini, onion, and roasted red pepper hummus

Our next short drive will take us to Upper Canada Cheese Company, the only cheese maker in the Niagara Peninsula. You may choose to load up on some gourmet cheeses and baked goods. Cheese curds and butter tarts are recommended.

Our afternoon will consist of a tour and tasting at Flat Rock Cellars, an award-winning winery, and another drive through winding and scenic roads in the Effingham Valley area. We will end the day with a gourmet meal on the patio at 13th Street Winery, another renowned Niagara winery, where you will have the opportunity for socializing with fellow P-Car owners.

Our menu at 13th Street Winery will be:

• Wagyu beef slider bar with premium toppings and salads
• 13th Street Bakery’s famous butter tarts

We will be eating on the patio, weather permitting, or in the new events space in the art gallery.

The wine bar will be open.
