Winter in August

The Venue was Mimico Cruising Club, but the topic was wintertime fun at our August 13 Social. We were thrilled to hear stories from Stephan Griese, Drive Event Manager and Laurance Yap, Head of Marketing, both with Porsche Cars Canada. They presented us with their Camp 4 Video depicting their Winter Driving Experience at Mecaglisse, Quebec. Camp 4 is a two or three-day winter driving experience in brand new Porsches with studded tires. Participants learn driving techniques on specially prepared ice and snow tracks. This is hosted by Porsche Cars Canada every year from late January through to mid February. They are signing up people for the 2014 Camp 4 and spaces are limited. So if you want a trip of a lifetime learning drifting techniques on Slalom courses and skidpads and tracks, this is a Camp not to be missed. The evening ended with Dagmar Pegg handing out door prizes to eight lucky members with the finale going to John Cupp who won a UCR jacket! Well done and thank you Dagmar!
