Porsche Centre Oakville takes to the track
BEING A SUCCESSFUL AUTOMOTIVE DEALERSHIP IN 2017 isn’t just about selling cars. The days of some strategically placed balloons, a test drive and a handshake are long gone. Today, the objective is to bring the brand to life with engaging experiences that showcase to the product’s merits and speak to the driver’s desires.
For Porsche Centre Oakville, one of the best places to achieve this is at the track. Porsche has a rich history in motorsport, including over 50 class wins at the internationally renowned 24 Hours of Le Mans. With such a heritage, it follows that the best place to experience all that Porsche can and was meant to do is on tracks like those they are designed and tested on.

As a member of the progressive GTA-based automotive group, the Policaro Automotive Family, Porsche Centre Oakville holds regular Track Days at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park for clients and corporate groups that want to try out the newest model years. Participants were taken through some emergency braking and avoidance drills and a slalom course before hitting the track for some hot laps guided and coached by professional drivers in pace cars. Jonathon Urlin and Keith McIntosh, the lead instructors, were at each exercise to make sure we were well informed and acquainted with each Porsche, its abilities, and to slowly ramp up our performance on track. Daniel Morad was also present, offering his insights into the vehicles and racing experience for PCO. We drove an array of Porsches to experience their differences in handling characteristics and power. What a fantastic way to experience these sports cars in an environment where they were meant to be driven.
“Our Track Days are regularly among the highlights of our calendar of events,” says Francesco Policaro, General Manager at Porsche Centre Oakville. “Most people, even Porsche enthusiasts, rarely have the chance to drive on a track and really feel what these vehicles can do—seeing the smiles on people’s faces when they step out from behind the wheel of the 2018 Porsche 911 after a few laps at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park never gets old.”
Porsches comes to life at the track like nowhere else. And what better way to experience the brand with Porsche Centre Oakville, at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park! </>
