Adapting to a New Reality

Porsche Centre North Toronto Launches Contactless Service Amid Coronavirus

SOUTHERN ONTARIO’S PORSCHE DEALERSHIPS are adapting to a new reality in the face of the novel coronavirus and its resultant social-distancing restrictions.

While showrooms are shuttered, vehicle repair and necessary maintenance are deemed as “essential services,” so Porsche owners are able to keep their cars operating safely and efficiently during the pandemic.

In an effort to be proactive and protect employees, customers and the community at large, Porsche Centre North Toronto last month launched a brand-new Contactless Service Process. The customer does not need to enter the facility, instead they leave their vehicle parked outside in a designated area and drop the keys in the secure night drop box.

The keys are then handled with gloves, spray sanitized and bagged. All touch points are wiped with disinfectant including the steering wheel, gear shifter, climate controls, all switches and buttons, and door handles.

After service, the vehicle is sanitized once again.

For pick-up, all documentation is issued electronically (paperless), payment is arranged over the phone or online, and a vehicle pick-up time is arranged, contactless, through the service drive-through.

“The safety and wellbeing of our employees and customers have always been paramount,” says Graham MacNab, managing director of PCNT. “We recognize the need for our services and the responsibility that is required to complete these necessary services safely for all participants.”

Located at the northeast corner of highways 401 and 404, PCNT is currenting working on reduced operating hours and capacity, and prioritizing repairs and maintenance on a case-by-case basis. Any frontline essential service worker is prioritized so they can be mobilized as quickly as possible. Temporary hours are Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., on an appointment-only basis. See accompanying advertisement for contact information.

Other Ontario Porsche Centres have implemented similar procedures.

While showrooms are closed, customers can still shop for new and pre-owned Porsches on the dealer websites and get in touch about a possible purchase, which can also happen in a contactless way. </>
