PORSCHE CENTRE MARKHAM sparkled bright on the evening of Oct. 12 as it invited 60 club members and guests to its impressive new home at the CF Markville Mall site, corner of Highway 7 and McGowan, for the Autumn Twilight Social.
Not only was this a great time to catch up with fellow UCR friends, most still arriving in their Porsche two-door sports cars before many retreat into winter hibernation, it was also a prime opportunity to check out one of the first Destination Porsche concept dealerships in the country — which appears particularly striking in the evening with specialized red LED accent lighting that glimmers through a sleek aluminum façade.
Attendance was capped to keep the event within current health guidelines and the smaller group size allowed for a more personal, intimate setting.
Delicious gourmet refreshments were served, packaged individually for better health and safety.
Porsche Centre Markham invited all to tour the new state-of-the-art service area, where several Porsches, vintage and new, were in the process of important health check-ups and maintenance.
Afterwards club President Stefan Walther made some announcements, the biggest being that sister dealership Pfaff Porsche will once again host live, in-person, its annual Holiday Social on Dec. 14.
Then Stefan Walther along with Laurance Yap, Porsche Centre Markham creative director, conducted a raffle for some specially selected prizes — including Porsche cups, models, toque and scarf set, Lego set, Playmobil 911 racer, and more.
PCA Upper Canada Region thanks Porsche Centre Markham and Laurance Yap for making this memorable Autumn Twilight Social possible, a group event that can be particularly challenging to organize and host during the pandemic and with the ever-changing restrictions.
