What is a Navigation Rally?
A navigation or timed rally is a competitive event in which teams consisting of a driver and a navigator traverse a predetermined course, aiming to complete it in the closest possible time to a target time set by the organizers. Each team is provided with a set of rally instructions detailing the route and various checkpoints along the way. The challenge lies not in sheer speed but in precision and adherence to the given instructions.
The Rally Experience
The excitement of rally racing lies in its unique format, which encourages teamwork, strategy, and sharp navigational skills. Teams set off at one-minute intervals, each armed with a co-driver equipped with a clipboard, calculator, and crayon (or pen). The driver is handed the rally instructions, which include directions and driving distances. To complete each phase at the designated time, drivers and navigators must communicate effectively to decipher instructions, calculate precise timings, and make split-second decisions to stay on track.

The event will commence at Kelseys located at 6099 Erin Mills Parkway, Mississauga, L5N 0G5, serving as the starting point for an unforgettable journey through Ontario’s picturesque countryside. Participants will meet at 8:30 am for light snacks and a driver briefing. The rally finishes at the UCR Picnic. The registration fee is $30 per car, and teams can look forward to a day filled with excitement, camaraderie, prizes for the top 3 winners and the chance to explore some of the most scenic roads in the region.
